Cara’s
love affair with beautiful and sparkly baubles was evident at a very young
age. According to her family, Cara was reciting which birthstone corresponded
to which month faster than she could master her two times multiplication
tables; the fact that Cara would eventually design jewelry for herself
and CJ Sardi was a natural (and inevitable) path.
“Before I started creating my own jewelry, my personal collection contained
many beautiful and original pieces,” states Cara. “But, many of them
were not suitable to wear for everyday—especially when I was working and going
to school. I wanted to find equally original, beautiful and fun jewelry that could
pair well with jeans and a t-shirt or a sexy dress.” A picky consumer by nature,
nothing on the market really appealed to Cara, so she started designing for herself. “Soon,” she
remarks, “strangers were approaching me, asking me where I had purchased my
jewelry. Thus, CJ Sardi was born.”
When not designing for CJ Sardi, Cara chases after her twin Yorkshire terriers,
Jake & Ellie, and feeds a very expensive handbag and shoe habit. A
graduate of Boston University with degrees in art history and public relations,
Cara resides on the Jersey Shore.
